I have been designing and making costumes for theatre, TV, corporate events and bespoke pieces for companies and individuals for about fifteen years.

 

After a lot of research, analysis of the script and creative exploration, it is rewarding to produce designs which bring to life the director's vision for the characters.

 

Costume production is a subtle art of selecting the right fabrics, textures and colours to reflect the character whilst still allowing scope for the actor to form their own identity within the costume.

 

Whilst adept with larger scale theatre and TV productions, I also enjoy the challenge of using creativity to achieve the best result for projects with a more modest budget, without compromising the original vision.

 

I am accustomed to sewing costumes to a high standard, very swiftly, in high pressure situations to a deadline. I am also well versed in drafting patterns, buying costume pieces, assisting in wardrobes, supervising small teams, fittings/alterations, dress rehearsals and quick change planning.
